The gmina of Sztutowo, due to its location between the Baltic Sea and the Vistula Lagoon with the Szkarpawa river in the south and the Wisla Krolewiecka in the south-west, offers excellent conditions for inland sailing. The two rivers connect this region to the inland waterways. In this way you can get from Sztutowo even to very remote European destinations.

The gmina is crossed by the international waterway E 70 Antwerp – Klaipėda. Near Bydgoszcz the waterway intersects with the E 40 route, joining Gdansk with Odessa, and on the western Polish border with E 30 Szczecin – Bratislava. This is undoubtedly a great attraction for the fans of inland sailing. The gmina features well equipped marinas for yachts as well as other watercraft.

A new marina near the drawbridge on the Wisla Krolewiecka has been recently built as a part of the project ”Baltic Amber Coast. Development of crossborder area through building up and modernization of tourism infrastructure”. The project made use of the existing natural bay. All this will serve advanced lovers of inland sailing. Less advanced enthusiasts will also find many attractions here – they can rent kayaks or hydrobikes, along with the necessary equipment, and enjoy stunning views during short trips, or charter a yacht for longer voyages.

The Wisla Krolewiecka is also anglers’ paradise. The river is the home of many typically lowland species – such as perch, pike or common roach. Angling is enjoying its revival and for many it is becoming not only an attractive hobby but also a lifestyle. Sztutowo is well-known and much loved in the anglers’ world and is the seat of the local branch of the Polish Anglers Association.
